Jim Woolley is a special painter whose love of exploring the outdoors cannot be understated. He paints in all weather conditions and is often seen with his easel and oil paints, perched in many locations all around St. Ives. He finds inspiration in the many fascinating views in the town and surrounding area, especially along the coastal path. His deft use of oil paint has a soft and often ethereal look. His colours are subtle and carefully blended to create a natural effect. There is always an interesting cast of light and colour, with variety, passion and immense skill in his en plein air painting.
