Neil Hetherington oils
Neil Hetherington has lived in both St. Ives, England and Sydney, Australia, where he is a Fellow of The Royal Art Society. In 2022, he was awarded the prestigious Thora Unger Memorial Award from this well-established Australian art society. In 2016, he also won their coveted national medal of distinction. Neil defines his method as “tonal impressionism”, a style taught by Graeme Inson and Max Meldrum. Neil’s colour key takes this tonalism just a tad higher and uses his knowledge of light to lift his colours effectively. The higher key of his colour brings more life and dynamism to his outdoor paintings. Neil’s noteworthy St. Ives and Cornish work is exclusive to Art House Gallery, St. Ives.
