Allan Storer oils

All are oils in hand painted white tray frames

Allan Storer paints in luscious looking oils using a palette knife. His work from St. Ives is often done en plein air and has a fresh, lively feel. Often Allan paints his waves whilst standing in the sea in his wet suit with an easel and paint. Watching him paint can be a exhilarating experience. His recent work captures the excitement and changeability of an ever-moving St. Ives sea and sky. Allan’s abstracts and seascapes are always multi-layered and thick with paint. Looking closely, one can sometimes sense the area of town or the beach that has served as his inspiration. Allan has a long association with the town of St. Ives, going back to the 1960s and makes a point of knowing the town’s art history and its cultural significance. His St. Ives work is exclusive us at Art House Gallery.
